Dear Mr. Bubb:
The La Follette School Admissions Comittee has completed a careful review of an exceptionally strong group of applicants to our graduate programs in public affairs. I am pleased to inform you that the committee recommended your admission to the Graduate School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison; you will soon be receiving an official letter from them.
I have two comments. One… Did they have to make the first sentence so neutral sounding, so that I had to read in suspense all the way through that long winded second sentence?
And two, what took this so long?
In all seriousness, I’m very happy to finally know what I’m doing for next year and to have that be the thing that I decided I really wanted to do. Now if only I hadn’t spent the $100 to register with the LSADS (or whatever the acronym is) a week ago.
