Sometimes it is just a collection of things he finds on the internet. This site is not going to win any awards for cutting journalism, insightful commentary, or interesting objects, but it is a site for people to get to know Nick or to stay in touch – even if you’ve moved far away. Nick is a budget and policy analyst for the State of Wisconsin. He holds both Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a graduate student he studied public policy analysis and education policy at the Robert M. La Follette School of Public Affairs. As an undergraduate he majored in Political Science (American – Legal) and Communication Arts (Rhetoric). His undergraduate course work in Political Science received high honors, earning Distinction in the Major and membership in Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Fraternity.

Nick also serves the High School Speech and Debate community in the state of Wisconsin. Nick has worked with James Madison Memorial High School in Madison, WI and Sheboygan North High School in Sheboygan, WI. His work has earned him the diamond-key award from the National Forensic League. For forensics, he has worked with James Madison Memorial for six years, helping them win four State Champion teams, capture twenty-nine individual State Championships, and send twenty-four entries to the National Forensic League National Tournaments. Nick also taught Public Speaking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and volunteer coached the UW-Madison parliamentary debate team.

For debate, Nick worked for James Madison Memorial for three years, helping them archive notable success at state and national tournaments. As the director of debate at Sheboygan North, Nick help rebuild their policy debate program. Since then, the Sheboygan North has appeared in the final round of the Wisconsin State Debate Tournament twice and attended the 2008 and 2009 Tournament of Champions. Nick has taught the top lab at the Marquette University Debate Institute with Bill Batterman, Brandon Sheats, and Cheryl Stanga and directed the Wisconsin Debate Coaches’ Association Workshop. In addition to competitive success, Nick is the President of the Wisconsin Debate Coaches’ Association, having previously served as the Communications Director. He co-founded Wisconsin Forensics Daily in an effort to increase communication among the schools in the Wisconsin debate and forensics community. Nick has frequently contributed topic analysis to Victory Briefs on Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum resolutions. Nick has also had articles published in the Rostrum, the National Forensic League’s monthly speech and debate magazine.
